International students studying our courses will need to apply for a student visa subclass 500. The cost of this visa is $620AUD per application. You are responsible for fulfilling the requirements of your student visa. LATEST NEWS - As announced in the Migration Strategy released on 11 December 2023, the Australian Government is raising the English language requirements for Student and Temporary Graduate visas. The English language reforms will support international students and recent graduates to have a positive educational experience in Australia, and give students who earn a degree in Australia an opportunity to contribute to Australia’s economic growth. Students with strong English proficiency are better placed to live independently in Australia and engage with the broader community. They can also better understand their workplace rights, which reduces their risk of exploitation. These changes apply to all Student and Temporary Graduate visa applications lodged on and after the 23 March 2024. Student Visas The minimum test score for the English proficiency requirement for a Student visa increases from International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 5.5 to 6.0 (or equivalent).

- you are a citizen and hold a passport from UK*, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland
- you are an applicant who is a Foreign Affairs or, Defence sponsored student or a Secondary Exchange student (AASES)
- you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
- you have completed at least 5 years’ study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland
- in the 2 years before applying for the student visa, you completed, in Australia and in the English language, either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at the Certificate IV or higher level, while you held a student visa.
All prospective students must provide evidence of a relevant English language test such as:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (minimum score 6.0)
- For a Minimum test score of 5.5 you need 10 weeks of ELICOS, Foundation Standard program or Pathway program. For a minimum test score of 5.0 you need 20 weeks of ELICOS, Foundation Standard program
- TOEFL internet-based test (only accepted if test is taken on or before 25 July 2023 - minimum score 64)
- For a Minimum test score of 46 you need 10 weeks of ELICOS, Foundation Standard program or Pathway program. For a minimum test score of 35 you need 20 weeks of ELICOS, Foundation Standard program
- Cambridge English: Advanced (Certificate in Advanced English) (minimum score 169)
- For a Minimum test score of 162 you need 10 weeks of ELICOS, Foundation Standard program or Pathway program. For a minimum test score of 154 you need 20 weeks of ELICOS, Foundation Standard program
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) (minimum score 50)
- For a Minimum test score of 42 you need 10 weeks of ELICOS, Foundation Standard program or Pathway program. For a minimum test score of 36 you need 20 weeks of ELICOS, Foundation Standard program
- Occupational English Test (minimum score B for each test component)
OVERSEAS STUDENT HEALTH COVER (OSHC)
International students are required to maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their visa in Australia. The cost of your OSHC is determined by the total length of your visa here in Australia. APPLICATION & CONFIRMATION OF ENROLMENT
Students will need to apply with ACE Sports Academy in order to apply for their student visa. After enrolling and if all entry requirements are met, we will provide you with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and a Letter of Offer (LOO) necessary to obtain this visa.
