Athletes at this level may have access to match payments, prize money, grants or endorsements as the primary source of their income.

Individuals with this qualification train for events, work with coaches and support staff, compete in sport at a regional, state or territory level and undertake promotional duties. They possess a range of well-developed skills where discretion and judgement are required. They are responsible for their own outputs under the guidance of a coach.
